Expressions was originally established as “Dynamic Expressions” in 1978 under the direction of Connie Baynum. Upon her retirement in 1998, ownership and direction transferred to her daughter, Cara Gleeson-Patrick.
In 1999, Cara opened “Expressions Dance Theatre” after completing her education in dance and working professionally as a dancer and choreographer.
Continuing the tradition of excellence started by her mother, Cara and her accredited staff have dedicated themselves to the quality training of each student. Dancers under their direction have continued on to do commercial work, industrial work, and international tours, and have danced and choreographed at Disney World, Cedar Point, Kings Island, and The Ballet Theatre of Nevada, and the Dayton Ballet.
Our mission is to offer a holistic creative arts program, taught by a highly accredited faculty, emphasizing technical quality and creative expression in dance.
